Congratulations, AAW members! ♫♫
In Christchurch we have the Transitional Cathedral – and this is a transitional newsletter, summing up the last year and looking forward to the next.
Today I sent this email to Anglican Missions in Wellington:
‘On behalf of the Association of Anglican Women in Aotearoa New Zealand, l am glad to say we have over the last year raised $11,000 to go towards an emergency preparedness container for Vanua Levu, perhaps near Labasa or Savusavu. Please acknowledge this with trumpets and singing, so the members are encouraged to continue their good work – 2026-27 project is supporting Al Ahli Hospital.’
I received these emails almost at once:
‘Kia ora Raewyn, trumpets and singing it is! What a great effort. Please pass on our regards and heartfelt thanks for the faithful and ongoing support of the AAW.’

….so I felt pretty pleased.
And then Judith Mackenzie, our NZAAW Treasurer, told me that another thousand had arrived, making our final total $12,000. Wonderful! Your generosity is blessedly consistent.
And now that I have left this Convenor’s post you have Anne Gover and Margaret McLanachan from Dunedin Diocese carrying on for one year as the Convenor-in-waiting gets up to speed in another AAW role.
As you now know, the project for this year is the Al Ahli Anglican Hospital in beleaguered Gaza, desperately needing all possible kinds of medical supplies.
And also needing our prayers for protection and strength in the name of Jesus. So, keep up the superb work in your groups large and small, in our Dioceses and homes, wherever the call to support overseas mission is heard.
