NZAAW FUTURE DIRECTION SURVEY 15 April 2026

As a result of discussion at our recent Executive Meeting in Dunedin, it was agreed that we would survey our current and previous members as well as clergy and younger women to gain a better understanding of the issues we currently face and to analyse and plan our future direction as an organisation. Men are invited to respond as well.
We decided that we would use a SWOT Analysis template to look at the Internal Strengths and Weaknesses and the External Opportunities and Threats and we have created some questions to initiate discussion and feedback. If you have suggestions for our future direction please include these as well.

What strengths do you see as being part of AAW?
What is relevant today?
What attracted you to AAW?
What made you stay as a member?
Internal Weaknesses
What are the issues AAW currently faces?
Is the structure relevant today?
What are we doing that might be seen as irrelevant?
External Opportunities
Are there specific issues we could address?
Should we look at collaborating/joining/affiliating with other groups?
How might we better publicise ourselves at diocesan and national levels?
Would a name change be relevant? What would you suggest?
External Threats
What things have a negative impact on AAW?
What things stop us focusing on our aims?
